Reports indicate the Bair Hugger® Forced Air Warming system can increase patients’ risk of developing MRSA, sepsis and other serious infections.

Some patients are reporting that:

Waste heat from the Bair Hugger® “picked germs up and blew them directly onto the hip replacement device.”
The infection required 15 additional surgeries. Plaintiff was left with severe pain and disability-and one leg several inches shorter than the other.
“3M® has apparently known about this danger for years,” claims the lawyer, “but they have done little about it. They have remained silent. Even after medical journals wrote about it, 3M® denied the problem was real.”

BAIR HUGGER® LAWSUITS…

In recent years, patients who have developed severe Bair Hugger® related infections have filed lawsuits against the manufacturer 3M. The lawsuits allege that 3M was aware of the potential risk of infection, yet failed to properly inform the public. The infections sustained due to Bair Hugger® often require additional surgery, medical care, and rehabilitation.
