A mother and son were recently awarded one of the largest settlements in St. Paul history. Daniela Hobbs and Larelle Steward received $400,000 as the result of a police brutality case.
The settlement, with a mother and her son, ties the largest amount the city has paid for such an incident.
The family’s apartment was wrongfully searched by officers who were trying to find cocaine. Both Hobbs and Steward were substantially injured in the search, which found no drugs at all. Robert Gardner Law effectively fought for this family to earn them the justice they deserved.
