If you or a loved one has been prescribed Xarelto® and suffered uncontrollable internal bleeding, blood clots, stroke, or death, you may be entitled to compensation.
The popular blood-thinning medication, Xarelto®, meant to reduce the risk of strokes, pulmonary embolism, and blood clots in patients recovering from knee or hip replacement surgery, is now causing major concern among doctors for its dangerous and potentially fatal side effects, including:
- Intracranial (brain) hemorrhaging
- Adrenal bleeding
- Stroke
- Retinal hemorrhaging
- Gastrointestinal hemorrhaging
- Uncontrollable bleeding, causing death
The internal bleeding that can be caused by Xarelto® is difficult to reverse or be controlled by doctors, possibly making it much more dangerous than other blood-thinning medications.
The Inefficacy of Xarelto®
During the testing stages of Xarelto®, an FDA reviewer found the drug’s safety and effectiveness to be unclear and potentially skewed due to the use of various statistical analyses.
Britain’s National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) did not approve the drug in 2012, because adequate data regarding its safety could not be provided. Moreover, in addition to releasing this drug without an antidote, it was released without proper warning by its manufacturers about its harmful side effects.
